The chambray shirt dress is our favorite go-to piece this season – it is versatile and comfortable. The Gatsby necklace adds sparkle for date night – wear it under the collar, buttoned to the top for a fresh, preppy look, or leave it open and let the necklace peak through. The gold ankle cuff flat sandal and sporty watch keep the outfit chic yet casual.
Remember that these looks are a great way to get inspired. How would you wear this look? We love that you can take a look, and make it your own. Wear the necklace with your chambray shirt, and a pretty skirt or your white skinnies. Or replace the dress with a shirt and shorts, as one chic customer did here. Show us how you wore it by tagging your photo on instagram, twitter or facebook with #MySparkleStyle and we will add it to the “Your Bijoux Style” pinterest board.
We can’t get enough of jewelry here at Your Bijoux Box. Our only limitation is where to store all our sparkles!
I wanted to add some jewelry storage that was near the mirror that allowed me to see all the pieces at once. I have a rotating mirror attached to an Ikea closet that has a tall stretch of wall right behind it. The space is too narrow to put any shelves onto it, but turned out to be perfect for storing jewelry!
Walking through Ikea one day, I saw their Dignitet System displayed on a wall, twisted around a few extra corner pieces, making 4 or 5 short rows. It was perfect for Jewlery! I could set the distances between the rows as close or as far apart as I wanted, creating rows for long necklaces, short necklaces, and bracelets and earrings.
I stopped by Home Depot on the way home, and purchased some S hooks and some small eye hooks. At home, I measured the lengths that I would need to hang bracelets and necklaces. With a pencil, I marked out where the highest row would be, and from there, I measured spaces for these – 12 inches for most necklaces and 5 inches for bracelets. I planned the bottom row for long necklaces. I would recommend a space of 13 or even 14 inches, as many of them hang over onto the next row at 12 inches.
My husband kindly installed the pieces, making sure they were level. The wire of the Dignitet system does not bend very easily, and it took quite a bit of pulling and coaxing to get it to curve around the corners in a square. But in the end, the single pack had enough wire for this entire installation, and lots left over for another project (any ideas?!) I used the S hooks to hang my jewelry on the wires, all except for any earrings, which I hung directly on the wire. I like it because the pack came with 100 hooks, so I can And here is the end result:
When I turn the mirror around, the built in organizer how just has a few pieces of jewelry:
What are some of your favorite ways to organize your jewelry?
Fall clothes are in all the stores, but we are just not yet ready to say goodbye to summer. We pulled together this preppy summer mix to lounge around in on the last hot days of the year.
This chic blouse is a great buy for transitioning to fall. The sheer fabric keeps you cool on hot days, and the navy is perfect for fall. The pretty collar and high/low hem make it on-trend, and perfect to wear later with skinny jeans and a tailored jacket. With the 1960’s Tiki print shorts, the look is casual chic, and the pretty in punk necklace and bracelet make the look rock!
We added the hologram clutch just for fun. Would you wear it? It is one of those trends this year that can be a bit scary, but a bit easier to try out in smaller doses. We featured holographic clutches on our blog here, or you could make your own using this fun DIY we found! The rainbow of colors that radiates from this clutch screams summer, and is certain to be a conversation starter. If the clutch is too daring, why not try some fun holographic nail polish instead?
We are currently loving everything hologram. These adorable bags will incorporate a rainbow-like luster into your wardrobe. The question is…
The Gatsby necklace sparkles over the high neckline of this Grecian Goddess maxi dress. Layering it over pale blue softens the lines of this matte gold toned and crystal necklace, for a more romantic feel. The look also works well with lavender, mint and yellow. Or try it with blush tones, like these mesh-accented leather and suede sandals for Charlotte Olympia. Blush tones including pale pinks, peach and nude are a hot trend right now, and will easily take you through the fall.
Finish up the look with the Perfectly Plum shadow from Bare Escentuals. Plum is one of the hottest makeup colors for the fall, with plum on eyes, lips and nails featured on many of the fall 2013 Fashion shows.
